A Vietnamese with German degree in Agriculture, and now a Cad Drawer

Xin Chào or Selamat Datang

If you look at my resume, you might be confused. I don’t have an Architecture degree. In fact, back in the 90s, I graduated from a University in Germany with a degree in… Agriculture.

The long way home In 1996, most of my Vietnamese friends stayed in Germany for a safe future. I chose to come home. I missed Vietnam, and I wanted an interesting life, not just a stable one. But reality was tough. Vietnamese agriculture didn’t need a German-trained engineer. So, to make a living, I became a tour guide for German tourists. I didn’t know it then, but that job taught me everything I needed for today: Patience, Service, and Details.

Lucky meetings – Fast forward to 2012. I had a good life and a happy family. That’s when I met Mr. G, a German Architect. We had a great trip. At the end, he asked me: “Xay, you are honest and careful. Can you help my company draw some architectural plans?” I laughed and said: “Mr. G, I like details, but I don’t know how to draw. But if you teach me, I will learn.”

Learning from zero ! That was the start. My team and I spent 2 months struggling with AutoCAD and 3ds Max. We learned by doing. Mr. G taught us the strict German DIN standards. We started with simple PDFs. Now, we deliver thousands of drawings every month.

In 2019, destiny called again,Saigon, Bali I love the beach, sea, waves and surf. In 2019, I fell in love with Bali. I’m lucky enough to live between Saigon and Bali. In 2020, Mr. G asked again: “Can you do Point Cloud to CAD ?” Again, we said: “Why not?” We spent another 2 months learning. It was hard, but we did it. And from that moment on, we became experts in the field Point Cloud to CAD.

the “Ants” With a team in Vietnam since 2013 and now a new team in Bali, we aim to connect with architectural firms in Europe, undertaking even the simplest tasks for them at a good price and quality, bringing good, stable work and income to friendly, kind, and hardworking people in Vietnam and Bali.
